[Today, in the plaza, you'll see a certain New Feather at the fountain. It's clear he's a New Feather, easily distinguishable by the light cotton pants he's wearing and the bewildered expression on his face.

Of course, he hasn't yet accepted his situation yet. It's rather hard to, when you find yourself in a place completely different from the one you were in before, and without any of the people you know in sight. So, of course, the logical thing to do would be to believe you're still dreaming.

That's exactly what Asbel believes, as he briefly dunks his head in the fountain, fully submerging it, before pulling it out and shaking the water off.]

...I guess... it's not a dream, huh...

[He glances around briefly nearby, perhaps coming out of one of the shops, or during the corner to enter the plaza themselves, or whatever. He, deciding he should probably get some answers about just what's going on, starts running towards them.]

I was told that this is our journals. We can communicate with others using them. I'm still trying to learn it myself.

Communication via journals? [That seemed strange... and rather counter-productive, honestly. You would use a journal to keep thoughts to yourself, not to express them to others, right?]

...I don't suppose you use the paper to write letters, would you?

Everything you do with these journals is public, from my understanding.

You can speak to people via journal. As well as write.

[Taking that cue, Asbel takes out the journal he had found nearby and opens it, flipping to a page. And sure enough, there's Hakkai's message! He lets out a surprised gasp.

...And then decides to write back, to see if it really works.]
