[Today, in the plaza, you'll see a certain New Feather at the fountain. It's clear he's a New Feather, easily distinguishable by the light cotton pants he's wearing and the bewildered expression on his face.

Of course, he hasn't yet accepted his situation yet. It's rather hard to, when you find yourself in a place completely different from the one you were in before, and without any of the people you know in sight. So, of course, the logical thing to do would be to believe you're still dreaming.

That's exactly what Asbel believes, as he briefly dunks his head in the fountain, fully submerging it, before pulling it out and shaking the water off.]

...I guess... it's not a dream, huh...

[He glances around briefly nearby, perhaps coming out of one of the shops, or during the corner to enter the plaza themselves, or whatever. He, deciding he should probably get some answers about just what's going on, starts running towards them.]

[There's a distant look in his eyes for a moment before he smiles faintly, as if in reassurance.]

At least we know now that I will be able to recover with no ill effects.

[Naoki darts a look between them. He doesn't say the words that linger at the back of his mind, instead occupying himself with another drink of tea.]

And I realize now that I need all of you too. If only I'd... no, never mind. Speculating on the past isn't going to change it.

Ahh, but... You have people here that need you now too, Richard. Right, Naoki?

[Naoki goes simultaneously wide-eyed and a bit pink. Mainly because, well. He'd just been thinking that.]

Ah--that's right. Really...right.

That is right, and I need them as well. You're all my most beloved friends, no matter which world you are from.

[He briefly flashes Naoki an understanding smile. He may not get much at all about love, but he sure gets friendship, and he had a feeling Naoki might be feeling a bit awkward.

He places his tea cup back on the table.]

This is really good tea. What blend is it?

Ah-- [...jeez. Naoki smiles in return and rubs at the side of his neck with one of his hands.]

Ginger. It's supposed to be good for warding off a cold. You know, just in case.

An excellent idea given the current weather.

[... and the fact that Asbel just DUNKED HIS HEAD IN A FOUNTAIN.]

Y...Yeah. [He sheepishly rubs the back of his own head, embarrassed now at his own previous blunder.] Thanks for doing that, then.

[There's just a low laugh.]

Don't mention it. [Naoki moves to stand after setting his empty teacup aside.] I should start cooking. Call me if you need anything.

[He's going to feel a little awkward, still, if he hangs around.]

Thank you, Naoki. Would you mind making some curry if we have the ingredients for it? That's Asbel's favorite dish, and I wouldn't mind having some myself either.

[He's picking up on that slight awkwardness and won't push the matter for now, but he's going to be keeping an eye out to see if it continues.]

R-Richard! He doesn't have to do that! [H-hurk...]

[Naoki blinks at that and tilts his head slightly.]

Naoki can be quite the housewife sometimes.

[Fffff. Flushing bright red as he turns to head into the kitchen. ~~Where he belongs.~~]

[Richard just laughs a little, because despite Naoki's protest, Richard knows that he actually does enjoy it.]

He's quite an impressive cook; it may not be the same as the curry you're used to, but I'm sure you'll like it.

I'm not very picky about curry, but I'm sure his will taste fine. Naoki looks like he knows what he's doing.
