[Today, in the plaza, you'll see a certain New Feather at the fountain. It's clear he's a New Feather, easily distinguishable by the light cotton pants he's wearing and the bewildered expression on his face.

Of course, he hasn't yet accepted his situation yet. It's rather hard to, when you find yourself in a place completely different from the one you were in before, and without any of the people you know in sight. So, of course, the logical thing to do would be to believe you're still dreaming.

That's exactly what Asbel believes, as he briefly dunks his head in the fountain, fully submerging it, before pulling it out and shaking the water off.]

...I guess... it's not a dream, huh...

[He glances around briefly nearby, perhaps coming out of one of the shops, or during the corner to enter the plaza themselves, or whatever. He, deciding he should probably get some answers about just what's going on, starts running towards them.]

[Luckily, Lambda was keeping his distance. He just watches Asbel for a few more moments, before approaching.]

Asbel.

[He glances around the nearby vicinity. Someone called his name... Someone here knew him? He looked around, trying to find the source of the voice.]

[His eyes came to rest on the boy nearby. Was he the one who called him?

...He seems familiar... Really familiar. Why did he seem so familiar...?]

[...! Could it really be?]

...Lambda...?! [But... how?]

[Seems like Asbel wasn't expecting to see him. Their current situation doesn't change anything in Lambda's opinion, though; he still expects Asbel to uphold his promise.]

...You... have a body now?

It is a Humanoid vessel. [You know. The one Cornel gave him. Compared to the later types like Protos 1, this thing can't really do much at all.]

[Right... That's why it looked so familiar... It's his Humanoid form. But that means...]

Is it your... old body?

It is. [It's been many years and the Malnosso altered it slightly, but he'd recognize this body anywhere.]

That's... Good, then. I'm glad for you, Lambda.

[He fixes Asbel with a piercing stare.] Why? Do you believe I want my being to be imprisoned like this?

That's not what I meant. Isn't it better for you if you have your own body, instead of sharing someone else's?

This body is not my own. I may not be sharing, yet that doesn't make it any less constrictive.

[He honestly doesn't realize that Asbel means it's bad for the other person if Lambda shares their body. All he cares about is that this vessel is like a prison, with plenty of weaknesses.]

...I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like...

[Oh honestly, Asbel. Why waste time with apologies? There's more important maters to discuss.]

What is the last thing you remember from before your arrival here?

...I haven't forgotten the promise I made to you, if that's what you're asking.

Have you begun to fulfill it yet?

I intend to. I know the situation's different from what we agreed on, but... That doesn't change my intention.

[That's not what Lambda wanted to know, though. He was just curious whether Asbel's taken from a point in time that takes place later than his own and Richard's. Judging by Asbel's response, though, it can't be that much later.]

... I see. Even in this situation, your will is strong.

No matter what, I can't give up on my friends. I won't allow myself to. And now... That includes you as well, Lambda.

Friends... [He peers down at the ground for a moment, before shaking his head to snap himself out of his reverie again.]

Then, I will expect you to do your best.
