[Everyone needed to unwind sometimes, and Asbel was no different. Leaving a note behind at the house saying that he and ledbythewind were "going out tonight", the duo set off to the bar. Because what better way to unwind than by knocking back a drink? Or ten? It was the perfect way to relax, after everything's that's been happening in Luceti recently.

So, that evening, the duo took position in Good Spirits, everyone's favorite bar. Their modus operandi? To drink, of course, and that is why they're seated at one of the tables in the front of the bar, with two glasses, one each in front of them. ...And also a bottle of Snake Wine for consumption. Doesn't it just look charming?

...It was Richard's idea, okay? It's what happens when you've had a few drinks already.]

((ooc: Okay so this post has a unique element. It'll progress in chronological order, meaning the second thread happens after the first, the third after the second, etc. BUT IN ADDITION, in each thread that gets started, Asbel and Richard will slowly and progressively become more intoxicated as they consume more of this alcohol. Or maybe not so slowly, since they've already knocked back a few. Come in late enough, and we may very have a drunk duo on our hands!))

[Richard, meanwhile, is going to be happily sipping his wine until Asbel returns with the knife, aww yeah.]

...Alright, Richard, you hold the bottle, and I'll hold the knife.

[He's all too happy to hold the bottle out expectantly, waiting for Asbel to do something with it.]

[Okay, let's just... stick the knife into the neckhole and carefully position it to hold the snake in place. AND NOT ACCIDENTALLY STAB IT.]

[... but now the knife hilt is partially blocking the bottle's opening and making it difficult to pour. WHAT DO?]

[WHY ARE YOU ASKING HIM THIS? To him, at least the opening isn't blocked by the snake. He didn't account for the knife blocking it.]

... we seem to have encountered a problem.

[Asbel continues to fiddle with the knife, trying to position it in a way that doesn't block it.]

Then what... [Jiggle.] ...Should... [Jiggle.] ...We do? [Jiggle.]

We could always try drinking something else instead.

[Before he ends up bursting out laughing at Asbel, because really, that's kind of ridiculous.]

But we asked for this specifically... It seems like such a waste.

[Richard ponders this a moment more before shrugging.]

Then let's just try pouring it and see what happens.

[He nods. LET'S POUR THIS.]

[Apparently no one told them that snake wine is usually drunk in shot glasses rather than wine glasses, because that's definitely a wine glass he's holding up to have it poured into.]

[Asbel sees nothing wrong with this, after all, it's wine, so it should be drunk with a wine glass. INFALLIBLE LOGIC.]

[EXACTLY. POUR AWAY, BRO. Richard will just be trying not to think too hard about that snake in there.]

[Asbel is unfazed by the presence of the snake! God only knows why.]

[Richard is less bothered by it than he was now that he's had a couple more drinks.

... still, he's not gonna be the first one to sip it. YOU GO FIRST, ASBEL.]

[WHAT, WHY ME.

Oh fine. Asbel raises his glass in the air, and then... He takes a sip.]

[ledbythewind]

[Richard will just be sitting here watching his face expectantly. Very expectantly.

SO HOW DOES IT TASTE?]

[drawnbythesword]

[Asbel swishes the liquid around in his mouth for a moment, before finally swallowing.

...And then he freezes.]

[ledbythewind]

... Asbel? Are you all right?

[drawnbythesword]

[His face scrunches up as the taste hits him.]

It's... it's very...

[ledbythewind]

[... that's kind of a hilarious face, Asbel. He'll stifle a laugh as he takes a sip of his own wine and... oh. Okay, he may be making a similar face now.]

[drawnbythesword]

[Eventually, Asbel manages to get over the taste, and the face he's making subsides.]

What a strange taste...
